  after i read this article on slate.com about a dating coach for ex-hasidic women, i thought this would be a great job for ex-dubs.

  i see a lot of the same dating issues in the posts i read and even in my own life.. i don't know who would take up the job but it seems like it could be interesting.

  help born-ins understand the intracacies of dating and relationships in the real world.

  it can be really tough coming out and not knowing what to do. there weren't any girls my age in the hall i was raised in and my social circle within was pretty mch nonexistant. coming out of THAT into the year 2000s was like coming out of a quaker village. ugh

  What leads a person to think they are inspired by God?

  there seems no end of people claiming to be inspired.

  there are numerous holy books claiming to have been handed to their writers by god.

  these days a person writing their own holy book is likely to be met with scepticism (unless you are a scientologist), so people tend to claim to be inspired to interpret older holy books.

  maybe in some cases it's just...confusion or coincidence?

  i remember asking god to do little things like make a leaf blow in a certain direction despite there being absolutely ZERO wind and not a cloud in the sky, just to remind me he's there lol. you know i asked that one quite a few times and the leaves never seemed to do a damn thing. i shoulda taken the hint, bt i think i was juust too stupid and brainwashed to figure it out.

  maybe it's jusut something ingrained.

  if someone believes there is an all powerful being, who created the universe and that the junk in the bible is for real, then in that fantasy world...someone COULD be inspired by god. now in the case of someone who legitimately thinks they are inspired (and i mean that in the sense they truly believe they received some clear message from above, which is not what the gb does with the straight up lies) on this site, they're coming out of a cult that teaches stuff clearly and factually wrong, so i'd imagine there's plenty of rereading in the bible for the ones who leave the cult but still believe in the bible. i would bet there's a lot of "ah HA!" moments going on when that happens.

  that's jusut a guess, but i could see that happening with some people.

  does it matter WHY the wts associated with the u.n.?

  fact of the matter is they VOLUNTARILY applied for this association when they didn't have to and this flies in the face of just about every teaching they have.

  no part of this world? pshhh that's a fail

  volntarily associating with the great beast? sounds remarkably like violating that bad associations bit.

  if they can justify associating with satan's instrment of global domination in order to use a damn library, why not allow jws in nazi germany to join the german labor party if that was the ONLY political party which they were technically a part of already by simply being citizens?

  why not let the witnesses in malawi "associate" with the one ruling party in order to not be beaten, raped, or murdered? far more important than a library card.

  for that matter...might as well allow members to take blood in order to save their own lives.

  they didn't HAVE to associate with the un. they didn't NEED protection as they love to tout how principled they are, even with death staring 'em straight in the face. there's simply no excuse for this at all

  for a long time, african americans weren't allowed to attend the same niversities, schools, etc as white people. overt racism and the glass ceiling made it pretty clear that a career in an academic field wasn't really available for many african americans.

  the effects of that are still present.

  on top of that, don't richer areas get better/nicer elementary, middle and high schools? there's better resources at those schools and in those homes in general. unfortunately, we're not really present in those more affluent areas...
